Panorama
There was a time when I was obsessed with panoramas. I even got software and everything, but then with all the computer juggling in my life over the past two years I kinds stopped. However, the Himalayas inspired this one. More to come...
P.S. You probably want to enlarge the image and scroll across the screen. The sad thing about panoramas is they're only able to produce their deserved effect when printed.
P.P.S. The leftest mountain is Trishul, the long ridge is Mrighthuni and Maiktholi, the three peak mountain next is Nanda Devi (India's second and the world's fourth tallest peak), the set of peaks in the centre is Panch Chuli, form yesterday, and on the right are Annapoorna, Machha Pucchare holy Nepalese mountain name meaning fish tail), and Dhaulagiri in the Nepalese Himalayas.

Panch Chuli
Just back from a breathtaking visit to Binsar, in Kumaon in Uttarakhand. If there is only one palce you go in Ocotber in India, go to Binsar. And yes, I do mean just back - sitting in Delhi airport awaiting departure call.

Black or white
This one I really like cos it reminds me of what Japanese painting is like in my head. Don't ask, my head is a scary place! It's a silhouette, and the light being plentiful the sky bleached out to white.

People for the VERY FIRST TIME
These are my dear friends, whom I shall call hero and hero-ini, who have kindly consented to my displaying images of them on the net. Can't blame em, wouldja look at the hotties?
The problems I had with this shot were like this. Hero here has a distressing habit of putting on a "well?? get on with it!" super self-conscious face in pictures. Secondly, two people with un-posed expressions mean two sets of eyes that can close, two mouths that can hang open randomly, etc. The solution was actually very simply, I used the multiple frame option and took about 4 images a second, which made it quite easy to one with decent expression. Actually I got more than one.
I specially love how the colours worked out in this shot, with the blue and red against the green backdrop.

Taking flight
This time he posed against blue sky. (Yes I know it might be a she, but I'm feeling like anthropomorphizing and I say he.) I wasn't too sure about this one, but I think ti works very well. There's another version with a bud in the bottom left corner, which will come up tomorrow!

More dragonfly
See?
Toldja. Red reflecting. Can't see it? Wait for tomorrow.
I specially love how the cable sotra wiggles away into obscurity behind it in this one.

Dragon.fly.or.not?
Not these days methinks. =)
This was an amazingly cooperative insect, who sat still and allowed me to take MANY photos and change angles and get red reflections of wings etc.

Movement and Stillness
That same visit to Charminar, I managed to get this one, which I simply love because the picture is so still on the right and so busy on the left.
Maramalli
Lord I love these flowers. They are simply exquisite. On a day trip to a friend's farmhouse last weekend I spent hours taking photos of the flowers, up on the trees and far away. Thank the lord for zoom lenses and crop features!

Charminar bazaar
Taken on film, during the Ramzan market of 2004? Maybe 2003. Am very proud of this one because it was the first time I managed to do anything like this and get the light just right etc.

California Poppies
So immensely pretty.
What ever happened to us eh Mungi? Many exciting events. And no discipline.
A quick question, I need to know how many people actually look at this blog. Would every lurker out there be nice enough to leave us a comment in the next week or so? No identity required, just lemme know if you're looking!
