Day before yesterday's post, today
A much beloved pair of jeans died last week...it has been worn and darned and redarned and copied and loved and eventually, it ripped as I was pulling it up...that's a pretty good sign. So there it lies, on the floor, the last time it came off me, after four years of stellar service, despite the wear and tear on itself.
This is the only time I have ever loved grain, because in the picture on the left it really emphasises the granite floor and brings out the texture of the denim, which is in contrast with the worn inside and the limp puddle it makes on the floor. I just felt that it made a lovely picture of just how moulded they were to me, that soft, well'used denim feeling. The one on the right shows up close the work they have done for me, and the hurt they have earned through that work. The closeness and the wide aperture mean that the DoF is really narrow, and I feel it conveys how they are fading out my life, quietly, and fraying at the waist.
