Annnd more fishies

There are many more to come...but I worry that I'll bore the two of you. Anyway, at the Smithsonian museum of natural history in DC, they have a teeny tropical tank, which has these guys. It also had a nemo and a yellow dory, and about 70 billion normal dories, but those pictures don't make me go oooo so you don't get to see them. ID anyone?

  1. That is most definitely a specimen of the Longnose Hawkfish, native to the Pacific and Indian Oceans (Scientific name: Oxycirrhites typus, Indian name: Lambinaak Cheelmachchli, Indian American name: Hawkfish Longnose).

Here's another picture (not as pretty as the one you took): http://www.divegallery.com/Hawkfish_longnose.jpg
